New Serge Osc

Heh. Yesterday I post that the Serge NTO and Serge PCO work with Volta. Today, they release a design for a new M-Class Dual Osc that has both of these in one package. It is becoming more and more possible to get your feet wet with Serge.

  1. AAre you guys working on a hardware solution so I don't have to use an old MK2 MOTU soundcard? :)

Is there any chance of a pc version i.e vst?

When can I by it allready :P

Need to know these things before I go nuts.

    All the best

  2. I'm going a bit nuts as well. I have a new modular and don't want to shell out for a Midi->CV when I know I want to use Volta. It seems like it's working great but no concrete timeframe for release? Or did I miss that?

  3. Volta does work well, as seen in the videos, however, these demos were done using DP. Working around AU limitations for other hosts has proved trickier than expected.

Also, based on my wide oscillator testing swath earlier this month, we're upgrading Volta's calibration guts to be more robust and flexible. When this is complete, I'll post a new video.

The end is in sight, but until testing is complete, it isn't possible to offer a concrete timetable without making stuff up. I understand you're trying to make plans and this is frustrating. I do empathize.

  4. I appreciate your honest answer stretta. btw I credit your blog with getting me interested in modulars in the first place. AU limitations..yeah I forgot about those, especially regarding multiple midi ins and outs. Well, good luck and looking forward to it greatly.

  5. Is their any chance this will work with a vst host i.e Cubase 5.

I would of course need to buy a Motu soundcard (should be good for sales) but I feel you will lose a lot of sale if it is AU only.

Someone has allready written a very basic vst plugin that works with MOTU soundcards for controlling analog synths so it can be done, I would much rather you guys did a vst version for sure :)

Will yu be bringing out a dedicated hardware unit to go with this?
